Currently I'm a work-at-home mom, a freelance K-12 science curriculum developer, children's science writer and blogger.
I have a passion for making science understandable, and my goal is to make it accessible for everyone. My blog focuses on connecting current events in science to resources and activities for teachers, parents and students.
I have a B.A. in Cell and Molecular Biology from Skidmore College and a M.Ed in Science Education from the University of Washington. I have had the good fortune of working for a variety of wonderful organizations and learning from many excellent educators and writers, these include: Montshire Museum of Science, Squam Lakes Natural Science Center, The Ecology School (Formerly Ferry Beach Ecology School), IslandWood, University of Washington Teacher Education Program, Pine Cobble School, Exploration Summer Programs (EXPLO), Bement School ELAC program, Bement School and various writing projects for Education.com, Shmoop.com, Footsteps 2 Brilliance, TalkWits and DOGO News.
